Formed in 2007 in a garage in Prosperity, SC — brothers Jake (guitar/vocals) and Ben Kiehl (drums)  joined forces with high school friend Zack Stoudemayer (bass) to create a powerful blues rock trio. The Albatross unleashed it's vintage style bluesy classic rock riffs into Columbia, SC soon after and has been regularly liberating the metropolitan area with its rock ever since.

Heavily influenced by 1960s and 1970s classic rock — especially British blues, The Albatross aims to revive the vintage sounds and stage performances of the rock of yesteryear — an art form that has been lost over the years that the band wants to show has never lost its luster as the purest and best form of rock music.
